Grenada Stone Cladding – 11-Home Residential Development, Porthcawl
Humber Construction & Landscaping was appointed as the specialist stone cladding installer for a new residential development in Porthcawl, South Wales, comprising 11 new properties.
The development uses stone cladding from the Grenada range across external elevations, with the stone also continuing onto associated boundary walls to create a coordinated architectural appearance throughout the development.
On completed properties, the stone is combined with areas of warm white render, creating a contrast between the textured stonework and the lighter rendered elevations. The stone cladding forms an important part of the architectural character of the development and was approved as part of the local planning requirements for the site.

Stone Cladding Across the Development
The development incorporates several finishes from the Grenada stone cladding range, including Grenada, Grenada Volcanic and Grenada Graphite, across the exterior elevations of the new homes and associated boundary walls.
On completed properties, the stone is combined with areas of warm white render, creating contrast between the textured stonework and the lighter rendered elevations. Continuing the stone onto boundary walls also helps establish a consistent architectural character across the development.
The stone cladding specification was approved and permitted by the local planning authority as part of the development.

Specialist Installation During Construction
Humber Construction & Landscaping was appointed as the specialist stone cladding installer, undertaking installation across the exterior elevations and associated boundary walls as individual properties progressed through the construction programme.
With 11 new properties planned for the development, the project demonstrates Humber’s ability to work as a specialist subcontract installation team within a larger residential construction programme and coordinate stone cladding work with the progress of the wider development.
The installation photographs show Grenada Volcanic being fitted to one of the properties while the surrounding site remains under active construction.

Grenada Stone Cladding Range
Grenada, Grenada Volcanic and Grenada Graphite are being used across the development, providing variation between individual properties while maintaining a consistent stone-clad architectural character throughout the site.
The stone is used not only on the house façades but also on associated boundary walls, allowing the external finishes of the buildings and surrounding structures to work together as part of the overall development design.
Grenada

Grenada stone cladding was used across selected properties within the Porthcawl development to create strongly textured exterior elevations while complementing areas of warm white render. The stone continues from the house façades onto associated boundary walls, helping integrate the properties with their surrounding external features.
Using the same stone finish across both the building and boundary elements creates a coordinated appearance while retaining the depth and character of the individual stone panels.
Grenada Volcanic
Grenada Volcanic stone cladding provides a darker and more dramatic finish while retaining the distinctive textured appearance of the Grenada range. Within the Porthcawl development, it is being installed across external house elevations and associated boundary walls as part of the wider architectural scheme.
This part of the project also demonstrates Humber Construction & Landscaping working as a specialist stone cladding subcontractor within an active residential development. Our installation team works alongside the wider construction programme, completing the specialist cladding package as individual properties reach the appropriate stage of construction.

Grenada Dark Grey
Grenada Dark Grey stone cladding was selected for another property within the Porthcawl development, introducing a deeper grey finish while maintaining the distinctive textured character of the Grenada range.
In these photographs, the stone cladding installation to the exterior elevations has been completed while the property itself remains at an earlier stage of the wider construction and internal fit-out programme. This provides a useful view of how the specialist cladding package is completed as part of the overall build sequence on a new residential development.
Grenada Dark Grey is also carried through onto associated external and boundary walls, maintaining continuity between the building façade and the surrounding elements of the property.
