Country Stone Cream Stone Slips – Full House Transformation, Birmingham

Humber Construction & Landscaping completed the stone slip installation as part of the transformation of this semi-detached property in Birmingham, using Country Stone Cream stone slips across both exterior and interior areas of the home.

Externally, a new extension had been constructed to the front of the property and finished with Country Stone Cream, introducing a natural stone appearance and giving the front elevation a much stronger architectural feature.

The same stone was also continued inside the property, where Country Stone Cream was used on feature areas including the staircase wall and kitchen wall. Using one stone finish across exterior and interior applications helped create a connection between the different areas of the transformed property.

The project demonstrates how individual stone slips can be used not only to change the appearance of an exterior elevation, but also to carry the same material character through into the interior of a home.

Exterior Stone Slip Transformation

The new front extension created an opportunity to introduce a completely different material and architectural character to the front of the property.

Country Stone Cream stone slips were installed externally to finish the extension and create a prominent natural stone feature within the elevation. The warm cream tones of the stone provide contrast with the adjoining finishes while helping the new section become an intentional architectural feature of the house.

Because Country Stone Cream is an individual stone slip system, the installation can be arranged to create the appearance of traditionally built stonework rather than a regular panel pattern. Careful setting out around corners, openings and adjoining finishes was therefore an important part of achieving the completed appearance.

Interior Stone Feature Walls

The Country Stone Cream finish was continued inside the property, creating a visual connection between the exterior transformation and the redesigned interior spaces.

Stone slips were installed on feature areas including the staircase wall and kitchen wall, where the texture and variation of the individual pieces introduce depth and character that would be difficult to achieve with a conventional painted or tiled surface.

Using the same stone internally and externally also demonstrates the versatility of the system. Rather than treating stone purely as an exterior façade material, it can become a recurring architectural finish throughout different areas of the same property.
